We are seeking a dynamic professional to lead the cost planning and estimation function for complex infrastructure and civil projects. This role is pivotal in evaluating project feasibility, developing financial frameworks, and supporting strategic bid submissions. It requires a strong blend of leadership, technical acumen, and commercial insight.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • At least 5 years of estimating experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity. Mining experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead estimation teams and deliver precise cost assessments.
  • Advanced skills in industry-standard estimating software and digital tools.
  • Strong command of construction methodologies, materials, and labour cost structures.
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to foresee project risks and cost variations.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Clear and persuasive communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach a team of estimators, overseeing their development and ensuring quality outputs.
  • Coordinate team assignments to deliver timely and data-driven estimates for civil and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns that encompass direct and indirect project expenses.
  • Scrutinize technical drawings, scopes, and related documents to produce consistent and well-founded estimates.
  • Engage software tools to increase precision and streamline the estimating lifecycle.
  • Identify cost optimization strategies and assess financial risks tied to project variables.
  • Collaborate with project delivery teams, procurement, and technical consultants to validate cost inputs.
  • Support pricing negotiations and vendor discussions to ensure competitive sourcing.
  • Deliver estimate packages to senior stakeholders, including assumptions and methodology.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier pricing, and cost drivers to keep estimates competitive and relevant.
  • Contribute to financial planning, tracking cost performance, and recommending adjustments where necessary.
  • Continually evaluate and enhance internal estimation processes for better scalability and efficiency.
