We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver the successful execution of a greenfield/brownfield gold mining project in Indonesia. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing planning, coordination, and execution across all phases of the mining development lifecycle – from pre-construction through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end execution of the gold mining project, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and environmental standards.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, and commissioning.
- Collaborate closely with government and regulatory stakeholders to ensure full compliance with permitting, land access, and environmental guidelines.
- Oversee contractor and vendor selection, negotiation, and performance management.
- Establish project reporting systems and KPIs for cost control, risk, and schedule performance.
- Monitor and manage project risk, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
- Coordinate internal and external communications with company leadership, investors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations are rigorously adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to project engineering and site operations teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Project Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 10+ years of project management experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in gold mining projects.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale mining or resource sector capital projects (greenfield or expansion).
- Strong understanding of Indonesian mining regulations, permitting, and site operations (preferred).
- Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors and multi-cultural teams in remote locations.
- Excellent budgeting, cost control, and project scheduling skills (Primavera/MS Project preferred).
- PMP certification or similar project management credential is desirable.
