We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to support ongoing offshore projects. This role is permanently based in the Kuala Lumpur office and involves taking technical ownership of key engineering tasks and contributing to high-quality project delivery from concept through execution.
Your Role:
- Lead or support structural engineering activities within multidisciplinary project teams
- Manage technical documentation such as material requisitions and design calculations
- Coordinate with internal teams and other engineering disciplines
- Interpret and integrate third-party data (e.g., geotechnical, metocean, bathymetric) into design inputs
- Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Optimize designs to meet technical codes, budget, and scheduling goals
- Produce and validate detailed engineering deliverables
- Participate in MTO forecasting and monitor design progress
- Propose value engineering options to reduce material quantities or enhance performance
- Ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the engineering process
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and support their development
- Report regularly on progress to internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in the design and execution of offshore structures
- Strong working knowledge of offshore design codes and practices
Essential Technical Skills:
- Advanced user of SACS
- Experience with USFOS and GRLWEAP
- Proficient in offshore substructure and topsides analyses, including:
- Static and dynamic in-place
- Spectral fatigue
- Lifting, load-out, pile driveability, and on-bottom stability
Desirable (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with tools like SESAM, Abaqus, or ANSYS
- Experience in advanced analyses such as:
- Seismic (ELE/ALE)
- Blast and fire collapse
- Vibration and wind fatigue
